UpTheDeise.com
(UTD) is a celebration Waterford's unique Irish culture. Please stay
a while and learn a bit more about our beautiful
city and county, located in the south east of Ireland, through the various
sections of the site, such as our very popular
Waterford
Message Boards section.
The UTD Waterford
Shop contains loads of stuff for
people of all ages. Items such as the "De wan an' on'y book of Waterford Slang
boy!"
with over 40 pages of Waterford slang could just be the perfect gift for that
special Waterford person.

Waterfordians are full of their fun and love the old bit of craic (NOTE:
craic translates to a
good time in Ireland, and not the hard drug LOL). To celebrate this
part of our culture, the site is filled with jokes, slang, images, songs in
true Waterford style and gowlbagging is not only permitted, it is encouraged
here ;-) Visit the Waterford
Craic section for more or chat with other gowlers on our message boards
here.
County Waterford is a
magical place with unspoilt treasures and an unrivalled history,
Waterford City is the
oldest city in Ireland and "Old Parish" in the west of the county is,
as the name suggests, the
oldest parish in the country, pre-dating St. Patrick's time!
Luke Wadding, of Greyfriars, a Friar
with much influence in Rome, is responsible for the St. Patrick's day
festival and another Waterford man, named
Thomas
Francis Meagher, conceived the Irish flag, the tri-colour, which,
incidentally, was first flown in Waterford City.
The city is a lively modern place and is full of
beautiful treasures as is the county containing the Mountain ranges, one of
which boasts the best example of a
corrie lake in
Europe, and over
30
beautiful beaches. The county is also dotted with megalithic tombs
and other
fantastic places to visit. Visit our
Waterford Tourism
section for more...
