This is a short poem written many moons
ago by Portlaw man Sean Rua Power.
Da siúlóinn Éirinn in a fóda caola
( If i travelled all Ireland through its narrow sods )
Is i bPortclacháin ba mheall lion suí
( Its in Portlaw that i'd love to be sitting )
Is dá mbéadh fúm taistilgo tíortha canta
( And if i had to travel to celebrated countries )
Cois Clódach coillte a bhéadh mo chroí.
( By the wooded Clodagh there would be my heart. )
